Department Context

 

Sitting within Cox Automotive Product and Technology Group (CAPTG), the Integration & Automation Team are responsible for looking after our MuleSoft & Bizagi platforms, as well as designing, building, maintaining, and supporting integration solutions covering internal, customer and partner requirements across Cox Automotive Europe.

 

Our team are responsible for the development and maintenance of multiple systems across the UK and European Wholesale division.

Our Manheim Auctions Platform supports our Auctions business, transacting hundreds of vehicles daily across auction centres throughout the UK.

Scope of Role

 

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will play a role within our Integration & Automation Engineering team, the teams primary technology is Mulesoft. You will support in the designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test strategies.  [AL1] 

 

Your expertise will be crucial in guaranteeing quality, performance, and reliability of our software Integrations and Automation products. If you are passionate about test automation and thrive in a collaborative, innovative environment, we want to hear from you.

Objectives for Role

 

·       Support with Developing and implementingRole test strategies that align with product requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. [AL2] 

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, goals and to define testing milestones. 

·       Design, develop, and execute automated test cases to verify software functionality and performance. 

·       Perform exploratory testing where required, whilst seeking to automate all use cases. 

·       Conduct thorough regression testing to ensure the stability of software releases. 

·       Leverage automation tools and frameworks to streamline repetitive testing tasks and improve efficiency. 

·       Work on the continuous improvement of test automation practices and frameworks. 

·       Investigate, analyse, and document software defects, working closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolutions. 

·       Provide detailed and actionable feedback to development teams to enhance product quality. 

·       Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality products. 

·       Participate in cross-functional team meetings to contribute to the overall development and testing process. 

·       The role is a combination of manual and Automation Testing.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience

 

Key Skills: 

·       Detailed knowledge of web technologies 

·       Programming experience 

·       Docker experience 

·       Experience of working in an agile scrum team. 

·       GIT experience  

·       C# Knowledge for Automation 

·       Playwright/Cypress experience (or similar) 

·       RestSharp experience 

·       AWS or Azure experience

·       Jmeter experience 

·       K6 experience [AL3] 

·       Experience in API testing using Postman/Soap UI 

·       Desirable Skills: 

·       Knowledge of risk management techniques and structuring of effort accordingly. 

·       Knowledge of Database technologies 

·       Experience of leading and testing during complex Integrations 

·       Interpersonal and Non-Technical Skills 

·       Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills when working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

·       Ability to articulate arguments well and is comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders. 

·       A strong natural focus on what matters; delivering value and designing to minimise risk. 

·       Hands-on experience of working through the end-to-end project lifecycle within an Agile environment.  

·       The ability to work across multiple priorities in parallel and the ability to contribute to wider group strategies.  

·       Ability to work alone or collaboratively with minimal supervision.
