Lead Frontend Engineer (React) – £650/day (Inside IR35)

Manchester (2 days per week) | 6 months

If you’re a React Lead who wants full ownership of the frontend, this is one of the stronger contracts currently on the market.

This is a greenfield platform build where the frontend isn’t an afterthought, it’s the product.

You’ll be leading the development of a modern React-based UI, shaping how users interact with a platform used at scale.

• GraphQL BFF layer driving the UI
• AI-assisted engineering environment with modern tooling

The role:

• Lead the frontend architecture and delivery
• Stay hands-on with React, performance, and best practices
• Drive standards across testing (Jest / React Testing Library)
• Mentor engineers and shape the frontend direction

• Experience building scalable frontend systems
• Someone who cares about UX and clean architecture
